I’m a Professor of Philosophy at the University of St. Thomas (Minnesota). During AY 2020-2021, I’ll be teaching courses in philosophy, working on a book on slavery and religion (together with the sociologist Kevin Bales), and working on a project funded by the Templeton Religion Trust to develop a Science and the Big Ideas Course Program, intended to support the offering and development of philosophy courses which (a) satisfy core curriculum requirements, (b) are designed especially for future science professionals, and (c) examine a number of philosophical topics the adequate consideration of which is benefitted by attention to the results of the empirical sciences.

In my book Taking Pascal’s Wager (2016), I give an extended argument for the reasonableness and desirability of Christian commitment.

From 2010-2016 Dean Zimmerman and I co-organized the St. Thomas Summer Seminars in Philosophy of Religion and Philosophical Theology.
